  • Fluid Conversations Seminar: Thursdays at 12:30 (IMUS) Link

(Past events)

  • PhD Open Call (FPI):

A PhD position is available in the field of Partial Differential Equations, with particular emphasis on fluid mechanics. The goal is to tackle, from a rigorous mathematical perspective, central questions regarding the dynamics of free boundary problems for Euler and related equations of incompressible fluids: stability, bifurcation from equilibria, regularity, singularity formation, etc.

The successful candidate is expected to work under the supervision of Claudia García (Universidad de Granada) and Eduardo García-Juárez (Universidad de Sevilla). The official call is expected to open in mid-September 2023, and the approximate starting date will be in December 2023-February 2024.

For further details please contact us: claudiagarcia@ugr.es and egarcia12@us.es

This call is associated to the project Global dynamics, geometry, and regularity of incompressible fluids (GyReFluids, PID2022-14049NA-I00). Funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Spain), this programme offers funding covering a 48-month period for the training of university graduates who wish to do a PhD. Furthermore, it also funds doctoral course tuition fees and stays at other Research Centers.

  • PhD ̶O̶p̶e̶n̶ ̶C̶a̶l̶l̶ in Analysis of PDEs arising in Fluid Mechanics:

A PhD position is available in the field of Partial Differential Equations, with particular emphasis on fluid mechanics. The goal is to tackle, from a rigorous mathematical perspective, central questions regarding the dynamics of free boundary problems for the Navier-Stokes and Euler equations of incompressible fluids.

The successful candidate is expected to work in the group of Francisco Gancedo and Eduardo García-Juárez and is expected to start in September 2023 (aprox.).

The deadline for applications is January 26, 2023 (early application is encouraged).
